Hi, I’m Kristen and welcome to my blog!
In early 2020, I decided to start a blog with the intention of documenting my personal finance journey and other helpful resources along the way. I have always loved writing and wanted a place to do that more officially. In late 2019 I joined The Financial Gym and knew I wanted to keep a record because I knew it was the beginning of a special part of life.
After doing some research, I decided to use WordPress as the platform. It’s highly recommended by bloggers for many reasons, but I personally felt it was too much work to build and maintain. All of the logistics made me dislike writing and I slowly stopped publishing new content. It's totally okay to try something, decide you don't like it, and pivot to something a little more user friendly if it suits your needs.
This website will now become the beautiful hub I always dreamed of and that includes this great little blog section. It isn’t the main star, but a passion project. The first task will be updating and re-releasing the old posts while writing new content. There are plans for completely original content as well as curated lists and other kinds of posts.
While the internet is an incredibly vast and amazing resource, all of the information can be overwhelming. There can be a lot of fluff to cut through to get to the meat of a topic. This blog will be as little fluff as possible. Some posts will be short and sweet while others have more depth. I will try not to give you more than you need for the sake of word count or SEO.
The main pillars of my content all pertain to financial health, physical health, and mental health. All of these are intertwined and have great effect on the other. Deciding to live a better life doesn't mean turning everything upside down. Small, sustainable changes that lead to lasting lifestyle habits is my philosophy.
There will sometimes be affiliate links which are ways I can share products and services I love with all of you. If you decide to use one, I get a small kickback in some way. I will always disclose these at the beginning of each post and only talk about things I pay for, use, and truly find value in.
If you're new here, welcome! If you read the old blog, thanks for returning.
